This question above, and those contained in our "Guide to Depth, Breadth and Higher Order Thinking", invite you to SPLICED 2023.

Most importantly! Whatever area of investigation you decide to examine, dissect, marvel or wonder about, you are challenged to see its place in a wider whole.

For Example:

If you could teach everyone in the world one moral concept, what concept would have the biggest positive impact on humanity?

What systems are essential to our healthy existence on this earth?

In what ways does a healthy spiritual life contribute to the health of our planet?

What is the impact of war in one country to the world as a whole?

If everyone in the world would seek peace in their life at the same time, what changes would we see in all the world's population?

In what ways has a particular invention transformed the world in the way we live and work?

How does the use of plastics in our everyday lives impact our Earth?

How has digital technology benefited humanity and how has it impacted us negatively?


Teachers and students are invited to explore the resources provided and begin to contemplate connections, search for the imaginative mind, seek the goodness, truth and beauty, and walk the pathway on the journey to enlightenment and higher order thinking.

The G.I.F.T (Gifted Instruction Facilitation and Teacher) Personnel Professional Learning Teams honour both the knowledge and experience of teachers and knowledge and theory generated by researchers. 

SPLICED 2023 Student Enrolment

Dear Gifted Education Contact Teachers,


Enroll all students participating in the SPLICED Unit "A View from Afar", both those selected/targeted for participation in offsite and onsite workshops and those who will not attend the workshops but develop their work at school.


Over the years of support for gifted students we have identified specific students who are in need of continued differentiated tutoring and mentoring provided in the Workshops and at school. So enroll these selected students in the Macarthur, Illawarra, Shoalhaven or Highlands "ONGOING" section.  


Some NEW students will be participating and these students should be enrolled in New students section. They can be also part of an ongoing identification process as negotiated with John Charadia. Enroll these students in the "NEW" section if SPLICED is the opportunity to observe and assess their suitability for challenging differentiated learning.
